Hi friends.  I am in Wichita, (2 more sleeps till home tho yahhhh!) and I'm trying to get ready for my Stamping Siren's Team Meeting on monday night. My 3rd airplane I was overseeing is finished and gone back to Canada, so I am waiting for the arrival of the 4th and final one this year.  So in the mean time, guess what I'm doing? 

 I organized a Set Sampler Swap for us Sirens at the meeting and I can't wait to see the results.  When I started my Stampin' Up business almost 8 years ago, my upline Jana Cock introduced me to set samplers.  They are great for showing the versatility of a single stamp set, and when I would show them to my workshop guests they get a really great variety of samples.  So I organized 3 groups of 6 and decided to take a spot in two of the groups.  The stamp sets I chose were Aviary and Daring Adventure.  Here is what I finished last night

 
 
 
I'll be posting photos of each card and explaining A) who I cased it from  (lol) and B) what supplies I used.  Now I have to organzize them into the cello bags and make toppers, and then I'm done.  oh wait. no I'm not.  I coerced my Wichita Stampin Up lady and friend into taking a spot for one of my downline who can't make it, now I'm on the hook for helping her get hers done!  She is using the Stitched Stocking stamp set, wait till you see what we have done so far... chat soon girls, Ev

Nicole's Class for the Upcoming Crop in October

Hi friends.  I've promised more photos of the coolest class Nicole has designed for the upcoming Holly Berry Bouquet Fall Crop in October.  If you would like some more details of the crop, click here and check it out.  I have 5 spots left ladies, so if you are interested, be sure to register right away.

So Nicole wanted me to make sure you know that this Travel Suitcase and Mini Album were not her original idea.  She took a class online and "stampinupinized it"  (my word, but you know what it means).  Nicole is so talented, patient and generous with her knowledge.  Since she is no longer on the Siren's Team, we miss her terribly, but luckily I get to have coffee with her regularly and she always comes to crop;).  Here are some more photos of that AWESOME Vintage Suitcase~

 

How cool is that? She used the Nautical themed Designer Series Paper from the Summer Mini... and the "leather" straps are actually Crumb Cake cardstock!  Nicole says she "searched high and low for the hardware she used for the case, a lot of it came all the way from China-literally lol"  Here is a photo of the hardware she used

 
are you wondering what is up with the trunk?  She purchased these at the dollar store and we have to rob the latch for part of the project!  Cool, eh?  yep, you gotta give it to the gal, she is determined... most of these little parts have come from all over the place!

 
There are a LOT of papers and cardstock used- the kit uses an entire package of DSP and co ordinating cardstocks.  Nicole also managed to track down some big pieces of chipboard to BUILD THE SUITCASE!  I can't wait to take this class.  Here is a picture of the inside of the suitcase

  

So see the "lid" of the suitcase?  Remember your grandmother's suitcase had that piece that snaps up, but if you unfasten it you can put suits or whatever there and it stays seperate?  Well, this unvelcros, and flippie piece (I know, so articulate) slides out and you can put ephemera here, pictures, more journalling, whatever.  And the bottom portion unclips, and you can take a matching mini album out!  So really, this is totally 2 seperate classes.  Only better because they match.  I can't wait.  Here's a photo of the mini album

 
 
It's a little bit hard to see, but these bottom halves are actually pockets and everything is removable.  It's really cool.  

So personally, I am going to put all the ephemera (ticket stubs, menu samples, luggage tags, etc) in this project, as well as photos and tonnes of journalling that I've already done, from the 4 Stampin' Up! cruises that I have been lucky enough to earn through my business.  This project is an heirloom piece, and I know it will be around forever.

Beginner Stamper's Special

Hi everyone!  I want to share a little story with you.  Last fall I sent out a "birdie challenge" to my downline, the Stamping Sirens.  I had no idea how successful this challenge would be.  Last October the Stamping Sirens did over $30,000.00 in Stampin' Up! sales!  We also added 3 new members to our team.  I stamped 24 birds on to a sheet of Whisper White cardstock, and provided a list of challenges.  So for every challenge completed, you got to color a birdie.  Things like "sell 15 ink pads" and "hold 4 workshops in October"-things like that. 

So my Stampin' Up! coach, Alicia suggested I throw that challenge out again.  When I get home in October and my travelling is finished, I will be making Stampin' Up! my full time job, and she said this would be a great challenge not just for my downline, but to kick start me too.  (I always take part in challenges I give my team, it's only fair, right?  plus I get such a charge out of discussing it with my gals, its so exciting to work together for a goal). 

Where is this going?  One of the challenges to myself and my downline is to promote and sell the Beginner Stamper's Special. When we do this, we get to color a flower in (this year it's not birdies, but flowers). The Beginner Stamper's Special is a special I used in my early workshops to provide an outline and simplify the customer's order after a workshop, when they are so overwhelmed that their eyeballs are ready to pop out (remember that feeling?  you want it all and don't know where to start).  This special was a crucial step to help me to grow my business in the very begining.  So I wanted to pass this tip on to the Sirens.  So here is the special-in MDS (My Digital Studio) form.  Did you know the MDS is not just for Digital scrapbooking?  How cool is that anyway?  You can find out some information about My Digital Studio here.

Wichita Update, Christmas Advent Calendar & Thank You Class

Hi friends.  I have been a little absent lately.  But I have a great reason.  Besides working at Yingling Aviation here with my airplane, I have found a kindred spirit too!  Anyone who has known me for the last couple of years knows that when I travel for work I like to look up Stampin Up demonstrators so I can meet new people and get my stamping fix too;)  So I used the demonstrator locator to find a demonstrator here in Wichita.  Her name is LeAnn Skinner and she is a kindred spirit, no question.  We have been stamping together almost every single day since we met!  But wait, there's more.  LeAnn and her husband both work in the aviation industry, and she has introduced me to two of her downline, and they work in the industry too.  How cool and random is THAT!?  LeAnn is very talented, and you should see her stamp rooms~yeah, I said rooms.  I'm trying to get photos, but she is insisting that she needs to clean up first.  hahhaha, whatever.  so i'm going to sneak a couple of photos, and one of her and Molly and Rhonda too.  For the last couple of weeks we have been coming up with this

 
How cool is that!?  We got the boxes from Hobby Lobby~LeAnn and Holly drove all over Kansas and Oklahoma because each Hobby Lobby only had a couple of them and she needed 40 for her classes, and 10 for mine!  I was in Seattle that weekend, or I would've helped them road trip & shop.  These girls are hard core lol.  Here are some of the supplies we used:

Accessories: snowflake, all oval, scallop square, circle, oval, tag, stocking, curly label, postage stamp, owl builder, petie pennants builder, bird builder, 5 petal, ornament, and blossom bouquet punches, rhinestones, pearls, white gel pen, and a million dimensionals.  whew.  my goodness, LeAnn and I started to cut out for the class, we thought it was best to cut, punch and stamp the supplies... well!  5 days later, guess what?  We are still working on it.  oh my goodness, we really need to charge about $387 for this class to get paid for out time hahhaha!  It's darn stinking cute though, hey?  So this class, I am offering it at my crop.  Crop attendees can take this class for $45, all supplies are included, including your very own multipurose liquid glue... heavens knows you are going to need it baby!  If you would like more information about the crop, click here to see some more details.  Oh and wait until you see some of the pictures of Nicole's Suitcase and Mini Album Class!  I'll post picures here soon, so stay tuned.
